Accompanying Prime Minister Abe to his visit to the Philippines and presenting our business activities during the meeting

Chodai was invited by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to accompany Prime Minister Abe on his visit to the Philippines on 12th and 13th January. On January 12th, a dinner program between Prime Minister Abe and President Duterte at the Malacañang Palace in Manila was held, and  a business conference was conducted on the same day. On January 13th, a business meeting in Davao was conducted afterwards, a luncheon was held. Both Prime Minister Abe and President Duterte participated in the events. Mr. Akinori Ido, Director, Managing Executive Officer and Head of the Business Development Division at Chodai Co., Ltd. participated in the entire event. In addition, during the business meeting held in Davao on the 13th, upon the request of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Satoshi Kato, Head of the Manila Office gave a presentation as a presenter of 3 out of the 30 participating companies and 1 out of 25 Japanese companies.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Ramon Lopez, Secretary of Department of Trade and Industry and Ms. Charito Plaza, Director General of the Philippines Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) from the Philippines side. In the meeting, Mr. Satoshi Kato delivered a presentation entitled "Merit of doing business in Mindanao, "Last" 'Last Frontier' in Asia - Case study from Chodai's business in Butuan, Caraga Region" in which he introduced Chodai's business activities in the Caraga region. Moreover, he also talked about the merits of doing business in Mindanao, describing the island as "the Last of last frontier in Asia" and explained the enchantment of the island.

We will continue to promote our businesses in line with the Japanese government's promotion of high-quality infrastructure exports and the establishment of a low-carbon society. Through low-carbon economic development, we would like to contribute to mitigate the challenges for  global warming, the achievement of greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction of Japan and the establishment of peace in Mindanao.
