Employees of Chodai Co., Ltd were dispatched as instructors for two-day PPP seminar for local government staff in South Sumatera in Indonesia

This seminar was organized by JETRO and other institutions. In this seminar, effective technologies and policies for the development of smart and sustainable cities were discussed as well future business collaboration between Indonesian and Japanese companies.

The seminar started with an opening speech by the Ministry of Information and Communication, Indonesia and JETRO. Afterward, UNDP reported on the scheme it has established to promote smart cities.

In addition, four Indonesian local municipalities (Special Capital Region of Jakarta, Makassar City, Bandung City and Banyuwangi Province) reported on the status of activities toward smart cities.

Four Japanese organizations (Chodai Co., Ltd, NEC Corporation, Open Logi Corporation, NEDO: National Research and Development Agency, New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) reported on the effective technologies and services for the smart cities and their application cases.

From Chodai, Mr. Yuji Munehiro, general manager of Business Planning Division, gave a presentation on the following contents;
・About Chodai Group
・The three themes that have been implemented for small hydropower plants in Indonesia as an overview and results of Japan-ASEAN new industry creation project which has been proceeded with business consignment from JETRO.
・The service concept of AMCO Company (PT AMCO Hydro Indonesia), in which we own 34% share. AMCO is promoting a hydropower asset management support business in Indonesia.
・Private sector-led regional development project using AMCO's technology in the Caraga region, Mindanao, Philippines.
 
On the following day, a demonstration session of Japan-ASEAN New Industry Creation Project was held in Jakarta and organized by AMEICC, METI, JETRO and AOTS. We gave a presentation in this session as well. The ministry-level classes from the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Information and Communication, and Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesia were participated and there was a lively Q&A session.
